This is going to go badly. The Los Angeles County Health dept just launched a website [inspotla.org] that allows people to anonymously tell their sex partners that they may have been exposed to an STD.
The site currently sports 6 equally uncool e-cards that can be sent to notify the poor soul that you are infected with something that might make their penis fall off - that just doesn't seem like the right moment for a Hallmark-type card.
